Seth Crawford

"self portrait as a rock"
"digital dorito"

"Wonder Bread"

Seth Crawford's work has a prevailing sense of humor throughout, whatever media his work manifests itself in. He does run the gammut in bringing about his view askew: photography painting, drawing, video. The consistancy is found in a tongue firmly planted in faux cheek. Even his bio proclaims "he thinks about skymall and material culture and decorative arts. and cheeseburgers".

Work Of Art

An art reality show, huh?

Well... you know...why not? Artists as a rule make themselves vulnerable and open to public criticism, so television seems to be just one more venue for that. Check out the naked egos/insecurities in Bravo's "work of Art" (you can view it on HULU...or on Bravo at 9/10 central). Its like Top Chef, or Project Runway... but with artnicks. Check out, among the 14 players, Kansas City local Peregrine Honig, participant and someone I've featured before here on the Artnicks blog.
