Amy Mayfield's landscapes are composed of layers of media playing with each other- pooled paint, fine linework, matt images collaged in amongst the imagined world. Saturated, "crazy" colors against dark skies, patterned objects that seem otherwise organic and botanical, and areas of focused, tiny detail build a very specific world that does not feel expected or derived from someone else's surreal vision, but one unique to the artist.

Amy's work is on view currently at the David Weinberg Gallery in Chicago, IL. You can find her work online at amymayfield.com.
